NICL Assistant Syllabus 2015 For Online Exam 2015 Exam Pattern

National Insurance Company Ltd. will Organise online exam for the Assistants post in April 2015. Many of Candidates have submitted application forms and will go for this exam. The candidates should keep knowledge about the Exam Pattern and Syllabus of the exam in order to get success and to obtain good marks. So to Prepare Well, the detailed pattern and syllabus of the NICL Assistant exam is given below.

NICL has published a Notice to All Aspirants who will appear in the Assistant Exam. The Aspirants will appear in the exam with a original ID proof with NICL Assistant Admit Card. It must be noted that Name & other Information on ID Proof will be same as it appear on the NICL Assistant Admit Card 2015.

Examination Pattern 2015:- The Exam Pattern for the Assistant (Scale III Cadre) Posts as in written Exam is as under :-

 The Question Papers in Written Exam will be of Multiple Choice Objective Type.


 The Duration of Written Exam will be of 02:00 Hours or 120Minutes.



 There will be negative marking for every wrong answer, 1/4th of the obtained marks will be reduced for every wrong answer.

Total marks obtained as above shall be proportionately reduced to a base of 35 marks.

 There will also be an Interview of 15 marks.


The time for the test is 120 minutes; however you may have to be at the venue for approximately 180 minutes including the time required for logging in, collection of the call letters, going through the instructions etc.

All tests except test of English Language will be provided in English and Hindi. You can attempt any question from 1 to 200 at any point of time within these 120 minutes.
All the questions will have multiple choices. Out of the five answers to a question only one will be the correct answer.

You have to select the most appropriate answer and ‘mouse click’ that alternative which you feel is appropriate/ correct. The alternative/ option that you have clicked on will be treated as your answer to that question.

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked by you. For every wrong answer marked by you, 1/4 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. The Scores of Online Examination will be obtained by adopting the following procedure .

Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Corrected Score after applying penalty for wrong answers.

The Corrected Scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores. Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.
Testwise scores and scores on total is reported with decimal points upto two digits. Note : Cutoffs may be applied on Total Score.

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Assistants Scale III Cadre written Exam is given below :-
Reasoning : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.

English language : Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error  Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

General Awareness : Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around it and its application to its society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of every day observation and experience as may be expected of any educated persons. The test will also include the questions relating to India and its neighboring countries pertaining to history, culture. geography, economics, general polity, scientific research etc.

Numerical Ability : Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.

Computer Knowledge : To test the proficiency of the candidate relating to matters like text formatting of the paragraphs, insertion of table, skill to print and save, file transfer, website searching, browsing and downloading, E-mail, use of pen drive, and other software etc. and programmes of accounting, etc. Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office : Word Processing (MS-Word), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Communication Technology, Networking Concepts.
