Barkatullah University (BU) is a university in Bhopal, India. Originally known as Bhopal University, it was renamed in 1988 after the great freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah, who was born in the area. It is the main university of the capital city and provides degrees to most of the non-technical colleges in and around Bhopal

Barkatullah University offers UG, PG, Diploma and M.Phil & Ph.D. programs in various disciplines in University Teaching Departments (UTDs) and its affiliated colleges. Apart from the regular classroom courses, Barkatullah University also offers various distance education courses at UG and PG level.

Barkatullah University was previously known as Bhopal University. University offers courses in 64 Govt. colleges and 159 private colleges in 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Barkatullah University is the main university of the capital city which is providing the degree to most of the non-technical colleges in Bhopal.

The university offers admission in B.E & Integrated B.Tech courses on the basis of score in university level entrance.

The admission to BA, LL.B & B.Pharm courses is merit-based.

Students have to qualify in the BU Bhopal entrance test to secure admission in B.Pharm, B.Ed, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed, LL.M & MBA programs.

The application process is common for all the courses offered by Bakatullah University.

The application form can be filled through MP Online Portal followed by submission at university’s admission office.

The university also offers Diploma and M.Phil & Ph.D. courses in various specializations.

university also offers special postgraduate courses like M.F.Sc, M.P.Ed and M.Pharm for the duration of two years. B.F.Sc and B.P.Ed qualified candidates are eligible to apply for M.F.Sc and M.P.Ed courses respectively while B.Pharm degree is mandatory for M.Pharm course with 50% marks in aggregate.
