प्रोफेशनल एग्जामिनेशन बोर्ड (पी. ई. बी.) राज्य सरकार की एक स्व-वित्तपोषित, स्वायत्त निगमित निकाय है। वर्ष 1970 में मध्य प्रदेश प्री मेडिकल टेस्ट बोर्ड के रूप में इसकी शुरूआत की गई,बाद में वर्ष 1981 में, प्री इंजीनियरिंग बोर्ड का गठन किया गया। वर्ष 1982 में, सरकार के आदेश संख्या 1325-1717-42-82 दिनांक 17.04.1982 के अनुसार इन दोनों बोर्डों का विलय कर दिया गया और व्यावसायिक परीक्षा मंडल (PEB) का नाम दिया गया। बोर्ड को राज्य में विभिन्न कॉलेजों के प्रवेश परीक्षा आयोजित करने की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गयी।
