Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is a part of the
Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It
deals with the tasks of formulation of policy concerning levy and collection of
Customs & Central Excise duties and Service Tax, prevention of smuggling
and administration of matters relating to Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax
and Narcotics to the extent under CBEC's purview. The Board is the
administrative authority for its subordinate organizations, including Custom
Houses, Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerates and the Central
Revenues Control Laboratory.
Before this seniority List an old seniority list has been
declared before for Administrative Officers (Customs) for the period upto
31.12.2007 (as on 01.01.2008), IRS(CCE) officers, Administrative Officers (Central Excise &
Directorate), Superintendent, IRS(C&CE) officers , Customs Appraisers, HAG
of IRS ( Customs & Central Excise ), INSPECTORS, Commissioners (SAG) of IRS, Chemical Examiner
Grade-I CRCL, Hindi Translator and Junior Hindi Translator and invite the
objection from the related employee.
After getting the
objection on Seniority List declared on 2012-2014 and solving the objection
related to seniority list Now a New Revised rectified
Seniority List of various employees will be declared by Central Board of Excise
and Customs (CBEC) India Soon. The recent Supreme Court judgment clearing the India
Government’s decisions on promotions to the State employees and officers
belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has set the ball rolling
in dozens of services, pending for years due to litigation. He said the Court
verdict was an approval of the promotion policy pursued by the Government on
the basis of the Bhatnagar Committee report.
The Government, he said, would hold discussions with
employees’ unions and associations regarding the promotions so that there is no
ill-will left. “Let us save the situation in everybody’s interest. There may be
a few—half a dozen—officers who would be adversely affected by the promotions
based on reservations. Their case also can be considered (for promotions) to
facilitate promotions to so many others,”
The Department of Personnel is taking up the issue and
drawing up the seniority list up to date. There are many waiting for fresh
lists of promotions.
